Art, for me, is about finding balance between boldness and delicacy. This bird and flower illustration is a reflection of that balance—created using graphic markers on A3 heavy stock paper, it combines intricate details with vibrant colors to capture a fleeting moment in nature.
The process behind this piece involved layering shades to achieve depth and texture while embracing the fluidity of the medium. Working with graphic markers allows for precision, yet demands spontaneity. The bird, perched on a twisting branch, and the vibrant petals create a narrative of stillness and movement—a moment frozen in time.
This piece wasn’t just about portraying nature but exploring the interplay between line work, composition, and the rich hues that markers provide. Each element—whether the soft blush of the bird’s feathers or the bold magenta of the flower petals—is meant to draw the eye, encouraging a closer look at the details.
Through my work, I aim to celebrate the small, often overlooked beauty in the world around us. This piece is my attempt to bring those moments into focus.
